If you were suddenly granted the day off today, how would you go spend your free time?
I'd watch TV, read a book, and do some shopping. Of course, there's also the regular chores such as laundry and cleaning up my basement apartment.
After so many months of saying "I must go see this..." and "I want to see this...", I finally went to see National Treasure: Book of Secrets with my cousin. I really didn't have much expectations regarding this movie except that it'd be a little smart, over the top, and a balding Nicholas Cage. I was pleasantly surprised with the route that the writers took with this particular film, setting it several years later than the first, acknowledging that Nick Cage was getting older (he wore reading glasses in this movie) and even adding a little bit of dysfunctional family humour to it. Nevermind that it was two hours jam-packed full of action! It definitely had more action than the last, although the whole "discovery" was less awe-worthy compared to the first. Still, considering that it's a sequel, I would say it's much better than a lot of the sequels that have come out in recent years. For people who need a rather mind-numbing movie (meaning, nothing that requires a lot of thinking or guessing), this movie is a great choice. It's also a great "date" movie for people who are just starting a new relationship. It's nothing too sappy or romantic, and I firmly believe that both parties would enjoy it. (And as my cousin said, the girl is hot, so that's always a plus for the guys).
So since Xmas is over, I thought that I needed to change my theme in Vox. I thought that this particular theme was quite appropriate since it's been snowing here again. It snowed yesterday in the middle of the afternoon, and then again at night. We have a snowfall warning in effect for tonight, tomorrow morning, tomorrow evening and beyond. The snowfall warning is not in effect tomorrow afternoon as it is expected to rain. However, I work and live in higher elevations where even when it rains in the Lower Mainland, it's snowing where I am. *sigh*
What do you do for fun when you're broke?

I watch tv and read! Since the cable is already paid for by my parents, it is the one activity I can do free of charge. The other, is read. I'm a big reader, so when I'm broke, I go to the library and borrow books to read, or re-read old books that I already own.
