Things I Loathe:

- Serious back pain.
- Lack of sleep.
- Working the morning shift on Monday.
- In desparate need of a haircut, but my hairdresser isn't available until Thursday.
- Visa bill.
- No more coffee for me.
- Needing to go to Costco for more hot chocolate because my Mom gave my other hot chocolate packets away.
Things I Love:
- Being able to leave work early.
- Finished reading White Oleander.
- Good food.
- Writing with angel again.
- Hot chocolate (in place of my coffee).
So I was reading this article (http://www.slate.com/id/2195676/?GT1=38001) about Starbucks needing to close over 600 stores in the US. It has a chart that breaks down where each are closing, and what percentage of Starbucks that is in the local market. For some of the places, they were losing upto 20% of their Starbucks. I feel really bad for the people who are losing their jobs, but at the same time, I can understand that the market is oversaturated. I mean, if you look at some of the states, they have more than 100 Starbucks. I think one State has some large astronomical number like 2000. Seriously, it's not surprising what's happening. Of course, I wish it wasn't happening for the sake of the people who are working there.
Things I Loathe:
- Stress leading to anxiety leading to insomnia leading to the need to medicate.
- Clients standing me up aka not showing up to meetings.
- Clients being complete bitches over the phone when you clearly did nothing wrong.
- My co-workers screwing things up for me leading me needing to clean up the mess.
- Street repaving and more leading to unnecessary traffic jams.
- Totally being unable to read anything... nothing can keep my attention.
Things I Love:
- Friendly clients pleased with the progress of their program.
- Reading crazy news like Tom Cruise considering a sequel to Top Gun.
- Having good food with my cousin.
- Loving the fact that my supervisor is going away as of tomorrow and won't be back until the first week of August.
- My muse actually being away and being able to write with AngelFish.
- Bought a pair of cute silver ballet flats. Got them at Payless Shoes for cheap. They were American Eagles. I've been wearing them to work and they're kinda tight, but I'm sure the fabric will loosen up.
Show us the book you're reading right now.

I just finished Skinny Bitch, as some of you know, if not, check out this post. I'm about to start two books (I think) just because a) I can't decide, and b) I have a feeling neither of these books will keep my interst for long.
What exactly is losing weight the right way? Recently, I came into a set of books. With my cousin moving away, she was tossing out a lot of her books, and before doing so, she let me raid her bookcase of the books she was not taking with her. One of the books that came to me was Skinny Bitch. I really didn't know what the book was about when I took it, but I picked it up the other day and started reading it. Turned out it was a diet book about the "proper" way to lose weight.
It covered things like what to eat, what not to eat, mentality, exercise and what not. It included topics such as organic food, trash for the body, and what a person could do to change their lifestyle, which would lead to weight-loss. It's not a bad read, but I don't know how much of it I agree with, or even believe. Although they do promote a balanced diet, and shoot down such fads as the Atkins Diet, some of the stuff they said were not all that practical, whether it be for financial reasons, or simply because the food they ask for are not necessarily available in places outside of major US cities.
Now, I really don't want to give away too many details to the book, so I'll stop here in that regards. But I seriously wonder about all the books that are out there that talk about dieting, and all the fad diets that are present in our soceity. What is it about us nowadays that want to be skinny? What is it that makes us want to subject ourselves to crazy diets, depraving ourself of food, etc? And why is it that what we love to eat make us fat?
How do you travel to and from work - personal vehicle, bus, subway/train, pedal power? What does it cost you per week in gas or fares?
Submitted by Jan.
I drive to work, as I make a lengthy commute from one suburb to another. As for the cost of gas per week, I really don't know. I know that I'm paying a few hundred dollars in gas a month. And of course, I've been posting the gas prices on Vox, so I'm sure you've all seen just how much I've been paying. If not, check it out. Click on my tags.
Things I Loathe:
- Being really hungry.
- Not being able to start my Slim-Fast/Veg diet because I didn't have time to go to the store to pick up some Slim-Fast & Veggies.
- Going to Costco and not being able to buy bocconcini because the box was too big for me to eat by myself and no one else eats it at home, so I'm stuck!
- Clients forgetting to call, assuming they called, and then dropping off their kids at my doorstep.
Things I Love:
- Coffee!
- Having dinner with my grandmother, uncle & cousin almost nightly. Makes for great conversation and a wider variety of food.
- Sleeping in on the weekend.
- Family friend visited on Sunday - dinner and a birthday celebration!
- Being able to leave work early yesterday! Thank you supervisor!
So my favorite actor in the world, Michael J.Fox, is returning to the small screen for a short guest stint on a show called Rescue Me. Exactly what is this show? What network is it on? I don't have answers to any of those questions because I don't think this show is available in Canada. Prove me wrong people if you have been watching it... because if not, I'm stuck! How can I watch his excellent work if it's not available?
How much does a ticket cost at your usual movie theater? Does the price affect the number of movies you see at the theater?
Submitted by Kristie.
It costs about $12 + tax when I go to Silvercity. It's the more expensive theatre. There are some cheaper ones but the effects aren't at nice. And yes, the price does affect how many movies I watch a year simply because I can't afford to watch that many especially when I have other expenses.
